AC Shelby Cobra scuttle seal, properly designed to slide into the bottom edge of Cobra windscreens and create a neat seal between the screen and the body. Custom made for OE Spec Plus, this seal is designed to slide correctly into the lower channel of the windscreen unlike the normal off the shelf seals.
The seal hardness has been properly specified to sit neatly onto the car bodywork and follow the contours properly. Manufactured from a matt black silicone, which offers much better UV resistant properties than rubber, this seal will create a neat finish to your AC Shelby cobra screen installation
Supplied slightly overlong at 1.4m to allow you to trim to suit your 427 or 289 Cobra's windscreen.
Tech Spec
Manufactured in matt black silicone VGP50. This is an ideal material that is clean, non-reactive, and temperature-resistant with excellent mechanical properties.
- Wide Temperature Range: Offers reliable performance across a broad temperature spectrum, typically from -50°C to +180°C, allowing for use in both hot and cold environments.
- Good Mechanical Properties: Possesses a good balance of tensile strength (typically 9.0 – 10.0 N/mm²), elongation at break (440% – 1000% depending on hardness), and tear strength (around 26 N/mm), providing durability and flexibility.
- Environmental Resistance: Exhibits excellent resistance to UV light, ozone, and weathering, ensuring longevity and performance in various environmental conditions.
- Hydrophobic Nature: Naturally repels water, which can be beneficial in moist environments.
Installation Notes
Your new cobra scuttle rubber will arrive as a 1.4m length. This is enough for any cobra windscreen and will need to be trimmed to fit your screen.
The moulding will be powdered to help maintain its appearance in storage. The powder can be easily cleaned off with soapy water.
The moulding will slide into the lower channel of your screen as a firm fit. Wiping the mating surface with a strong solution of washing up liquid and water will help ease the rubber into place.
